Quality & Care
Materials
Our Core Collection is made entirely from 2.5 Micron 14 karat Yellow Gold Vermeil. Due it’s hard-wearing nature, it is suitable for everyday wear and is extremely resistant to tarnishing.
GOLD VERMEIL COMPARED TO GOLD PLATING
Gold Vermeil (ver-may) differs to Gold Plating in many ways:
- Gold Vermeil is plated onto a Higher quality ‘base metal’ than Gold Plating - all of our pieces have a solid Sterling Silver base, whereas Gold Plating usually has a base of Steel, Brass, Copper or Nickel.
- Whilst the thickness of gold plating is 0.5 microns of gold, Gold Vermeil has a thickness of at least 2.5 microns thick, meaning it stays bright and golden for longer.
- To be classed as Gold Vermeil, the gold used must be at least 10 Karats. Our pieces are made using 14 Karat Gold, which is made up of 50% pure 24k gold and 50% alloy.
Wear and Tear
Our jewellery is 100% nickel/lead free and suitable for all skin types (however, always consult a doctor if you have allergies to any metal substances). Be sure to keep your jewellery clean and free of products.
Store your jewellery in a soft jewellery box or the pouch provided with your order to avoid any scratching, alternatively, you can also store your jewellery in any air-tight container. Keep jewellery away from extreme heat or moisture and treat it gently.
How to care
Our jewellery is great for every-day wear, but follow these tips to expand the lifespan of your jewellery:
- Where possible, avoid getting your jewellery wet ( yes, this includes sweat!)
- Put your jewellery on AFTER applying your perfumes, creams and hair care products.
- Cleaning your Gold Vermeil/Plated jewellery is easy, just buff gently with a dry cloth.
